AUTOBIOGRAPHY

My name is Michael Farr, and I'm on an adventure.

For eight years I dedicated my efforts to a career in journalism. I poured myself into student media both in high school and college, interning at several professional publications along the way. After graduating college, I landed a job as a web producer at the Los Angeles Times, where I stayed for a year and a half.

In 2011, however, I began a new chapter in my journey. I decided to pursue a calling that had been eating at me for some time: I joined the U.S. Army. It was a decision bred of patriotism and duty, but also of a desire to add some exciting chapters to my life story.

I left the military in November 2014, unsure of where my path would lead me. I ended up back in my home state of Oregon, where I spent two years studying Russian at Portland State University. After a summer abroad in Russia on a State Department scholarship, I decided to take job at a Portland marketing agency, where I now work as a website project manager and digital marketing specialist.

I do freelance web design and digital marketing projects on the side, so please feel free to contact me with inquiries or business opportunities. Thanks for visiting!
